Below is an ever evolving list of the most common questions people have about Burlington Code!
Who are we?
We are meetup organizers in Burlington, trying to make it easier for other software meetup organizers.
Who are our members?
Our members are meetup organizers of Software Meetups
What are the incentives of being a member?
You get free access to a consistent ideal venue at least once per month with minimal overhead. We hope to be able to offer even more next quarter.

Tell me more about the venue…
Where is it?
Main Street Landing by the waterfront (same building as Skinny pancake).
Where can my members park?
Parking is free with Main Street Landing after 5 in this lot (the left most arrow in the picture) We. There is sign posting that it isn’t free, but unless there is someone there collecting money – its free and you won’t get towed. On certain holidays in the summer there may be a college student collecting money. These usually aren’t good days for meetups and so we have never actually experienced this in the 9+ months we have been using this venue.
Is there internet?
There is a free wifi (don’t remember the name at the moment, something like Lake college). It is wide open and super fast!
What do I need to do for setup?
The room will be pre-setup for you. But it’s best to show up early to confirm everything is in order and to put out signage. We’ve created a slide deck for you to play before your presentation as guests arrive. It contains information about Burlington Code and our sponsors. Get it here – bit.ly/btv-code
What do I need to do for teardown?
Leave the room as clean as you found it. If there is any trash, do your best to get it in the provided trash bins or piled up near the trash bin (eg pizza boxes)
Is there a tv / projector?
There will be a projector and screen provided for you. The project supports VGA or HDMI and we have an HDMI cable in our bin in the room (just put it back in the bin when you’re done).
What is the capacity?
Our max capacity for the room is 60.
Can we bring food and drinks?
Yes – just clean up after yourself. We get a good deal on the venue and that won’t be possible if we are expensive to clean up after.
Can we bring alcohol?
Yes – just use common sense. It is against the law to drink under age. It is against the law to distribute alcohol.
This is great, how can I get involved?
Join the Burlington Code Slack channel and ask this very question. There is plenty to do and so it is just a matter of aligning what needs to be done with what you enjoy most.
